I had a fantastic stay! The beef ale pie was the best I've ever tasted, and the breakfast spread was delightful. I loved the spacious family room, but the view didn’t match the photos.

A just appropriate option for a stopover in Lydford with incredible value for money. They catered to my gluten free diet, serving me a delicious chicken with mushroom sauce and roast potatoes. Always check if you need to book ahead if arriving late.

The spacious twin room provided a comfortable overnight stay, enhanced by convenient amenities like a clean and well-maintained restroom. The bar atmosphere was inviting, with reasonably priced, delicious food options, including ample vegetarian choices. While the staff were generally friendly, the experience was marred by a lack of assistance when my camper van got stuck in the mud, which left a sour impression on an otherwise enjoyable visit.

would definitely book here again
Nice double room with a private bathroom, good heating, tea and coffee maker. The shower was clean and had great pressure. Super friendly staff made us feel welcome. Enjoyed the cozy pub atmosphere with hearty food. Perfect location for beautiful walks right from the door.

Rooms feel stuck in the 70s with salmon-colored bathroom suites. Heavy noise from the bar can make it tough to relax, especially at night. Shared bathrooms are quite dated, and some cleaning issues exist under the bed and in the carpets. Basic tea and coffee options without extras can feel lacking, and the WiFi wasn't reliable, which can be frustrating for communication.

missingWrote a review on 26 Febgenerous portionsrustic decorcozy atmospherepoor heating
The dining experience stands out with generous portions and a solid menu featuring traditional pies and gluten-free options. The cozy atmosphere, complemented by rustic decor and a striking hunt painting, enhances the comfort and charm of the pub space.
The room lacking adequate heating on a cold night proved inconvenient, leaving the option to bundle under duvets as the only respite. Shower pressure fell flat, and the overall layout in the older section felt a bit dated, impacting the comfort experience without feeling overly objectionable.
